JOIN US FOR THE INAUGURAL FIRST ANNUAL SANTA FE ARTISTS' PROCESSION!
This free, outdoor community event brings together Santa Fe’s diverse artists and arts organizations for an imaginative procession designed to surprise, engage, delight, and inspire. Think large-scale sculptures, puppets, contraptions, masked characters, music, performance, costumes and visual art.
The Santa Fe Artists’ Procession features original work by a growing roster of local artists and arts organizations, including:
DKLA Studios, Hernan Gomez Chavez, Carol T. Woolworth, Jonathan Hertzel & Linda Guenste, Pablo Ancona, Patrick Mehaffy, Sabrina Griffin, Alas de Agua y Proyecto Alebrijes, Theater Grottesco, Nancy Sutor, and others.
Participating performing and walking artists include: Ati Atimaeir, Los Cien Gatos Brass Band, Kalob Martinez, Alex Reid, Abstract Picnic, No Man’s Land Gallery, and more.
The procession is a Santa Fe community event. All Santa Feans (and New Mexicans and visitors) are invited to attend, observe and enjoy. The procession will end at Reunity Farm, where food and additional performances will extend the joy of the event.

Where: From Romero Park to Reunity Resources Farm, along the Santa Fe River Trail
What: A free, outdoor procession featuring original sculptures, puppets, contraptions, masked characters, music, performance, costumes, and visual art. Presented by Theater Grottesco in collaboration with the City of Santa Fe, Santa Fe County and community arts organizations.

VOLUNTEER FOR THE ARTISTS' PROCESSION

Volunteer roles vary in their physical requirements. Some roles involve walking, standing and some lifting or pushing. Guest Greeter, Hospitality, and Artist Check-In are primarily stationary roles with less physical activity.
The shifts will last approximately three hours. For all volunteer shifts, please wear weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes and bring water.

What is the Santa Fe Artists’ Procession?
The Santa Fe Artists’ Procession is a free, outdoor community celebration featuring original work by Santa Fe artists, performers and arts organizations. Expect large-scale sculptures, puppets, contraptions, masked characters, music, performance, costumes and plenty of surprises along the way.
Where does the Procession take place?
The Procession will travel along the Santa Fe River Greenway Path and conclude at Reunity Resources Farm, where food and additional performances will continue the celebration.
How long is the Procession Route?
The Procession Route begins at Romero Park and ends at Reunity Resources Farm just North of San Ysidro Road. Expect to walk between ½ mile to 1 mile to obtain optimum viewing of the Procession from San Ysidro Crossing.
Is the Procession free?
Yes! The Santa Fe Artists’ Procession is a free community event. Everyone is invited.
How do I watch the Procession?
Access the trail at San Ysidro crossing. You can walk as far down the trail as you like. The Procession will start just above Romero Park at 2pm
Can I bring my dog?
We ask that you please do not bring your dog. (Service Animals, okay). The Procession will include crowds, music, large sculptures, puppets, live animals and other unexpected sights and sounds.
How can I help protect the Santa Fe River Greenway?
The Greenway is part of what makes this event possible, and we want to leave it as we found it.
Please stay on the designated trail and respect the surrounding landscape. Do not enter sensitive areas or disturb plants, wildlife or other natural features. Pack out your trash and use designated waste and recycling bins.
Will there be places to sit?
Seating will be limited along the procession route. Please bring your own lawn chairs or wear comfortable shoes. Seating will be available at the concluding celebration at Reunity Resources Farm.
Who can attend?
Everyone! Santa Feans, New Mexicans, visitors, families, artists, art lovers, curious passersby, and anyone who enjoys a little spectacle are welcome.
Do I need a ticket?
No. There is no ticket required to watch the Procession.
